A black grape native to Bordeaux. After Cabernet-Sauvignon, the best-known grape in the world. Early-budding.
The blue-black grapes grow loosely in medium-sized, cylinder-shaped clusters. The wines from this variety are fine and aromatic, recognisable on the nose for their red-berry, cherry notes.
La Milla and Montijo (Olite)
Merlot has taken hold well in Navarre since its cultivation was authorized in 1986. It is perfectly at home in dry areas like ours in Olite and Traibuenas where it gives exceptional quality and very low yield per hectare.
The resulting wine is always highly concentrated, potent, silky in texture and very pleasant.
